  Cooking the Books

  mulan and seeker4 got me thinking in the previous thread called 'what did you do first?...'..

  they both made the point that they were turning in reports when not going out on field service (tsk, tsk!

  ) and i remembered the times i 'cooked the books' a little and rounded up the figures, fiddled my time a little, counting time when it was not proper ministry.

  I started cheating on my time sheets in April. I guess that's when I really was convinced that it didn't matter if I lied to them. I had started to be convinced by then I think. I haven't turned in time since May and that was for a bogus 4 hours.

  I couldn't let myself put down false amounts in the past though, in case Jehovah was watching, you know. There have to be others that felt that way, right? I don't think everyone fudges the numbers.

  Well, I haven't da'd myself yet, but I haven't been to meetings and I have an elder and his family that live on the same street and nobody's been by to "encourage" me. It's been at least 3-4 months now. A couple friends have stopped by to be on my cooking program (little 5 minute thing I did a couple times) and they had a great time. But, they just told me I need to be at the meetings, but they didn't push it with me, which is nice.

  I almost hope to get caught, but not quite yet. Let's hope we can go on for a bit and help persuade others before they cut off communication.

  I have a feeling though, that they are just biding their time in your case. Be prepared for them, just in case.

  Lost in Suicide

  i am very sad this morning.. i just found out this morning that a man that i grew up with and have known since i was a very young girl commited suicide earlier this week.

  i had not seen him in 11 years, since i left the kingdom hall for the last time.

  he was about 5 years older than me.

  I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
  I had a close cousin, same age as myself, that committed suicide just a few days after his dad died.

  It's such a horrible loss because it didn't have to happen and just think how his family will be feeling. His mother, even if she doesn't say a word to anyone, will always feel guilty of assisting him in this and that's a horrible burden to carry.

  Another reason disfellowshipping is so evil.

  its been a while since i read stephen r. covey's _the 7 habits of highly effective people_ and i do not feel like looking up the section i am getting ready to mention.

  but i think i recall covey talking about the unhealthy habit of becoming overly engrossed in one activity or pursuit.. it seems that there are individuals using this medium of communication whose life's aim is to "help" jws out of the "borg" or 'bring down the tower.

  if it tricks your trigger, i guess there is nothing anyone can do to prevent you from "helping" jws out of the "borg.

  yoga class........meditation

  last night i went to my first meditation class, conducted by a nice young man, teaching a yoga-type meditation.

  it is my first venture into meditating, and i thought i would share a couple of interesting points.

  i was with an old friend, who also happens to be an ex dub, but only out about a year.

  I saw Madonna played a yoga instructor in one of her last movies and she was very fit and it looked hard. I'm sure it's a good workout, just different from the running/weightlifting/aerobics type I've tried in the past.

  Compassion For Those Who Remain Silent

  as excited as we are by the events announced by silent lambs and upcoming media attention, i would like to ask people to remember the many silent lambs who simply cannot speak or have not yet found their voice.. these victims should not be made to feel as second class people for their decision to remain silent.

  i will not go into all the possible reasons why these victims remain silent.

  Thank you for posting that. I think there are more suffering silently than we'll ever know. It's good to understand that they may suffer more in different ways by talking and to show understanding towards them.

  joel, i want you to know i can think of no other poster who shows as much humanity, as much compassion and insight as you, particularly when it comes to the human condition.. thank you for sharing yourself and your journey so openly; i'm grateful for that.

  you obviously have picked up many helpful tools in your recovery toolkit, and when you not only share them with us but show how to use them, how they can benefit us, we are the richer.. i need not say more, than that you are loved very much.. maximus.

  Does your wife or any of your sons know you frequent the "apostate" sites every day? Do you tell people at the hall that you are "slapping" around apostates online?

  to make it easier for the out of towners (especially the ones driving in from the us), how does everyone feel about having our next get together on a saturday...say saturday, august 18th, starting at 4pm?
